DESCRIPTION:Support for Men who have experienced a substance use-related death. \n \nSix meetings – Wed. Evenings 7:00–9:00 PM\nDec.16th\, 23rd\, 30th\, 2020 & Jan 6th\, 13th & 20th\, 2021* \nRegistration Deadline is December 14th\, 2020. Space is Limited.\n*If you are unable to make this six-week session\, contact Bob or Gloria for future dates. \nLocation: Brighter Days Grief Center\nHIPPA Compliant Zoom Platform\nFee: $25 (scholarships are available) \nBob Englund will co-facilitate this group with his wife\, Gloria\, who has been leading these\nkinds of grief recovery groups since 2012. Bob is the stepfather to their son\, Aaron\nWatson\, who died of a heroin overdose in 2007. Since men have been in the minority in\nthese groups\, Bob decided\, he would like to co-facilitate a men’s only group. In\npreparation Bob has been part of and mentored Gloria’s groups as well as received training\nin grief group facilitation. Bob has also been a member of other kinds of men’s support\ngroups. In weighing this experience against groups he has attended where women are in\nthe majority\, he finds that men tend to grieve differently and are more open in a group\nwhere the majority of the members are men. \nThe group coaching support differs from traditional grief support groups because the focus\nis not only on the loss\, but also the trauma and stigma that often result from this kind of\ndisenfranchised death.
